Hotel Royalton
The Islazul Royalton, with its enviable position within the historical center of the capital of Granma, is the best hotel in the city.
Housed in an old building from the 1940s, the Royalton combines a refined republican style with a limited but well-acceptable range of services. It does not have a lift, although it is only 3 floors and it could do with a bit of maintenance but, in general, reviews are positive and optimistic about the hotel and the staff.
The Royalton includes a bar and restaurant with very Cuban proposals and some of the foreign environment, as well as some nocturnal activities. Also, guests can buy drinks and snacks at any time of day, as well as change money or call both inside and outside Cuba.
The 33 rooms are not particularly large or elegant, but they are practical and comfortable enough. They have air conditioning, bathroom, minibar, radio, telephone and cable TV.
From the Royalton it is very easy to get around the rest of Bayamo and visit its main tourist attractions.
Sober and comfortable hotel, not bad for a couple of days in the capital of Granma.
